Role & Authority

Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit (KSN) was a prior HOA legal counsel for the Prestonfield HOA. KSN replaced Meltzer, Purtill & Stelle (the original development-era counsel) at some point after 2006. KSN’s most notable work for the HOA was drafting the proposed 2017 fence amendment that would have added aluminum as a Declaration-level option — that amendment was never recorded.

KSN has since been replaced by Costello, Sury & Rooney (costello-sury-rooney) as HOA counsel. KSN was confirmed active through at least July 2020, billing at a $375/month retainer plus per-matter fees. The transition to CS&R occurred at some point between July 2020 and 2025 (exact date unknown from ingested sources).
