Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit (KSN) was a prior HOA legal counsel for the Prestonfield HOA. KSN replaced Meltzer, Purtill & Stelle (the original development-era counsel) at some point after 2006. KSN’s most notable work for the HOA was drafting the proposed 2017 fence amendment that would have added aluminum as a Declaration-level option — that amendment was never recorded.
KSN has since been replaced by Costello, Sury & Rooney (costello-sury-rooney) as HOA counsel. The transition date is unknown from ingested sources but occurred between 2017 and 2025.

KSN replaced the original HOA development counsel Meltzer, Purtill & Stelle (Schaumburg, IL — Brian Meltzer handled the Declaration, Special Amendments 1 and 2, and Articles of Incorporation). The date of that earlier transition is also unknown.
